I first encountered the fringe of folk music and took up guitar in the 60s. I was never very good at it. In 1992 my wife bought me a 'birthday' banjo (at my request!) and suddenly - Eureka! I found I could relate with the banjo in a way that I never could with the guitar. After years of lone practice, I was persuaded by Ray Derrick to visit and perform at the Beehive Inn in November 2000. From that moment I was hooked.

My speciality is American Old Time and early Bluegrass and I seem to have cornered the market on the local folk scene in that particular genre.
